8-Week Sessions

What can I expect during an 8-week class?

Classes taken during an 8-week session cover the same amount of content and have the same workload as traditional 16-week classes at an accelerated pace. This means you can expect to spend at least 15 hours per week on a 3-credit lecture course taught over 8 weeks. 

Which classes are available during 8-week sessions?

At this time, a select number of academic courses are currently offered during 8-week sessions. A majority of these classes are being offered in online and hybrid course delivery styles.

Z-Degree Classes

Can anyone take a Z-degree class?

Students may register for Z-degree classes regardless of their chosen major and as long as any prerequisites associated with the class are met.

What is a low-cost textbook?

Low-cost textbooks are required textbooks and/or other course materials that cost a total of $30 or less (excluding special course fees) per class and may be purchased at the CWI Bookstore.

What is a zero-cost textbook?

A zero-cost textbook refers to any textbooks or course materials available to students at no cost, often through Open Education Resources (OER).
