Adult Education & GED Prep

Change your life with essential skills necessary to reach your goals and be successful in today’s society through College of Western Idaho's (CWI) Adult Education program.

    Adult Education classes can help you: 

    • enhance your math and English skills
    • study for the GED test
    • or prepare for college or a career.

    Classes are FREE to adults 16 and older, not currently enrolled in public school. Choose to take classes in Boise, Nampa, or the community locations listed below. 

    Boise

    Adult Education classes in Boise are held at CWI's Ada County Center Mallard Building

    Nampa

    Adult Education classes in Nampa are held at CWI's Canyon County Center

    Lab Hours:

    Build your skills in preparation for college or a career by participating in the classes and workshops listed below. 

    2546 Computer Skills Classes

    Expand your computer skills to be an efficient student or employee including typing, emails, internet safety, finding information online, word processing, creating presentations and spreadsheets, and more. Classes, held in Boise, are free and you have access to use classroom computers.

    2546 Pre-Mechatronics Classes

    Learn about and prepare for CWI's Advanced Mechatronics Engineering Technology program. Pre-Mechatronics classes will cover key concepts, help you begin building your digital skill set, and prepare you for exciting career opportunities. Classes begin Jan. 22 in Boise and are free of charge.

    Improve your writing skills in 8-week classes. Writing for the GED includes how to write essays, short answers, and improve grammar and punctuation.  Classes, held in Boise, are free begin in April.
