High School Student Registration
Students registering for courses held on campus or online through College of Western Idaho (CWI) will need to complete the Dual Credit Registration Packet.
Students taking courses at their high school or through Idaho Digital Learning (IDLA) will register using Dual Enroll.
Some students may complete both the Registration Packet and Dual Enroll if they plan to take courses at their high school, through IDLA, and at a CWI
campus. Students who are unsure how to register are encouraged to reach out to their high school counselor or the Dual Credit office for assistance.
Dual Credit classes are set up as semester and year-long courses.
Fall registration begins in April for on-campus/online courses and mid-August for courses taught in the high school. Spring registration begins in November for on-campus/online courses and mid-January for courses taught in the high school. Year-long registration begins mid-January. Year-long courses are only offered at the high school.

How to Register
Please click on an option found below to take the proper steps for registering, as the process for taking on-campus courses differs from registering through your high school or IDLA.
Preview class offerings by semester, session, location, and more in Class Search. If you already have CWI login information, you may also search for classes in Student Planning in your Self-Service Toolkit on myCWI. Please check pre-requisites for any desired courses in the Academic Catalog prior to registering.
Note: Dual Credit students cannot register for courses online directly through CWI. To complete your registration, fill out the Dual Credit Registration Packet and submit to the Dual Credit office with all required signatures.
Placement Testing
All Dual Credit students who are interested in registering for a Math or English course at CWI are required to complete a Math Placement or English Placement prior to registering.
Scores must be submitted along with Registration Packet in order for you to be registered for the class(es). ACT or SAT scores may be used in place of the Math and English Placement Tests depending on score. More information on these two placement tests and how to schedule these exams can be found on the Placement Testing page.

What is myCWI and how do I access it?
MyCWI is a system that allows students to view their student information, courses, and grades and is accessible via the CWI website.
Once a student’s application has been processed, they will receive an email with their CWI ID number, CWl email address and username. New students will also receive this information in an acceptance letter from the CWI Dual Credit Office via the US postal service. The letter will include instructions on how to access your myCWI account for the first time.
To access your myCWI account:
- Go to MyCWI
- Username: In most cases, your e-mail address will be your firstname+lastname@my.cwi.edu (ex. jonathonsmith@my.cwi.edu). If you provided a preferred first name(nickname) to Student Services, your email address will be your preferredfirstname+lastname@my.cwi.edu (ex. johnsmith@my.cwi.edu).”
- Temporary Password: Your temporary password will be the first letter of your first name in CAPS (or first letter of your preferred first name if provided to Student Services) + first letter of your last name in CAPS + “logon” in lower-case letters + last 4 digits of your SSN, if you don’t have a SSN, then use the last 4 digits of your student ID number (Ex: Jonathan Smith’s password would be JSlogon1234).

What if I change my mind after registering for Dual Credit courses?
If you decide to drop or withdraw from a Dual Credit class, you must officially drop the class by completing a Withdrawal Form and submitting it to the Dual Credit office according to the drop and withdraw dates listed on the Dual Credit website. You can either drop the form off in-person (6042 Birch Lane Nampa ID 83653 NCMP Bldg. Room 212), or email it to a Dual Credit staff member. You can download a withdrawal form under the heading Registration and Records, on the Forms and Publications page.
NOTE: Failure to notify the instructor or the Dual Credit office will mean you will remain registered at the college for the course. Should you not complete the course, a failing grade will be posted to your transcript and you will still be responsible for paying the cost of the course.
