  • Certiport

    Exam Scheduling

    For CWI students:

    Current CWI students are allotted three exam vouchers with course fees. Students may purchase additional Certiport vouchers at a discounted price.

    Students must schedule their desired Certiport exam at least 24 hours in advance via RegisterBlast by selecting their chosen testing location, select "Certification Exams”, then “MOS Certification Exam” and lastly select the correct voucher "MOS 2019/365 ___ Voucher ". Please select accordingly, as each appointment uses one voucher. Call the testing center within 12hrs of your appointment, if you need to reschedule.

    • Please have your Certiport account already created before your appointment and ensure you have entered your Student ID.
    • An appointment is required for every exam attempt and voucher usage
    • CWI only offers the 2019 version of the exams. Older versions are not available at our locations.

    For Non-CWI students:

    The Testing & Assessment Centers at the College of Western Idaho only administers the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), and QuickBooks (2017 Online & Desktop) exams.

    • Non-CWI students must first purchase their exam voucher from certiport.com at least 24 hours before scheduling their testing appointment.
    • Exams must be scheduled at least 12 hours in advance via RegisterBlast by selecting their chosen testing site, clicking on "Certification Exams" then “MOS Certification Exams” and finally "MOS/MTA NON CWI STUDENT".
      • An appointment is required for every test.
      • CWI only offers the 2019 version of the exams. Older versions are not available at our locations.
      • Please bring your pre-purchased voucher code with you to your appointment or have it pre-loaded to your account.
    • Each exam time will require a non-refundable proctoring fee of $25, payable during registration checkout.
    • In the event that you do not pass the exam, if you purchased an "exam voucher with retake" from Certiport, a retake code will be emailed to you. You may re-take the exam after waiting 24 hours from the time your initial exam was first started. Retake vouchers must be used within 30 days of the failed exam.

  • IBOL (Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licensing)

    The College of Western Idaho proctors exams for the State of Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licensing in the following disciplines:

    • Drinking Water Professionals
    • Wastewater Professionals
    • Wastewater Treatment & Land Application

    In order to test, you must apply and be approved by the State. Your name must be received by CWI before you schedule your exam. You will be required to bring your original authorization letter with you to your appointment.

  • PearsonVUE

    CWI is a PearsonVUE-Authorized Test Center. Please be aware that not all exams offered by PearsonVUE are available at our sites and may require the use of a PearsonVUE-Professional Test Center, depending on exam requirements.

    Each certification exam from PearsonVUE has different requirements. Please visit www.pearsonvue.com and click on "For Test Takers" for more information related to your specific exam, including which government issued identification is required on testing day. .

    The name you used to register for your exam and the name on all forms of identification must match. If you have changed your name since registering for your exam, you will need to correct it with your exam sponsor or obtain new ID prior to testing.

    Unacceptable forms of ID (including but not limited to):

    • United States Passport Card
    • School ID
    • Work ID
    • Costco membership card
    • Library card
    • Insurance cards

    CWI Staff cannot circumvent any ID policy for certification exams for any reason.

  • IDCNA (Prometrics)

    Scheduling for an IDCNA certification exam:

    The Assessment and Testing Center at CWI now administers the IDCNA (Idaho Certified Nurse Aide) written exam on behalf of Prometric.

    The Written (Knowledge) exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions that test your overall knowledge of information required as a nurse aide caring for nursing home residents. You will have 90 minutes to complete the exam.

    • In order to test, you must have passed the CNA Skills exam prior to registration. Additionally, you will be required to bring your skills completion form with you to your appointment to verify your completion date. You will also be asked the school or training site where you attended class.

    Prometric will send information on the candidate’s successful completion of the Nurse Aide Competency Examination to the state’s Nurse Aide Registry within two business days of the candidate passing the exam. All test candidates should know or be able to provide their SSN on the day of their exam.

    Candidates may register for the exam using one of two options:

    Option #1: Self-Pay

    • Self-pay for the exam fees ($50) by using a credit card to schedule through our registration page:
    • Part of your payment will be used to reserve your testing appointment ($20)
    • The rest will be paid directly to Prometric at the time of your exam ($30)

    Option #2: Third Party Payment or Voucher

    If you are using Advanced Opportunity funds (voucher) or a third party payment, please follow these steps to schedule your exam:

    Important Note: In order to better assist our students and staff, testing dates for voucher exams will only be offered on Mondays in Nampa, and Tuesdays in Boise. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your voucher exam, thank you.

    If you are a third party and need to send class rosters and/or vouchers, please submit all documentation to WD@cwi.edu at the time your exam candidates are eligible to schedule the IDCNA Skills exam. Workforce Development processes all documentation prior to registration for the IDCNA Skills exam.   • National Testing Network (NTN)

    The Testing & Assessment Centers at the College of Western Idaho administer kiosk based tests for the National Testing Network (NTN), but not written exams.

    Testers must register with and set up an appointment at least 24 hours ahead of time via NTN.

    Once an appointment is scheduled with NTN, the tester will arrive at their scheduled testing center and appointment time. Please be sure to bring a valid, government-issued ID that matches the exact name that the appointment has been registered under. 

  • Kaplan Nursing Certification

    Kaplan Nursing Certification

    Effective May 1, 2018, the Nursing Entrance Exam changed from the ATI TEAS to the Kaplan. CWI Nursing no longer accepts ATI TEAS scores for entrance to the nursing program.

    • Effective May 2, 2019: You will only be allowed 1 attempt on the exam for the calendar year (January 1 through December 31).

  • DANB

    The DANB (Dental Assisting National Board Certification) is a national certification for dental assistants. DANB offers a wide range of certification exams at the national and state level. CWI is currently offering the following exams through our testing centers:

    • CDA (Certified Dental Assistant Exam)
    • GC (General Chairside Assisting Exam)
    • ICE/GC (Infection Control and General Chairside Assisting Combination Exam)
    • RHS/GC (Radiation Health and Safety Exam and General Chairside Assisting Combination Exam)

    Register as soon as you can for the exam. Each student must register for the test first on the PearsonVUE website with our testing center.   • ParaPro Assessment

    The ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test that is required in many states for paraprofessional certification. It also offers school districts an objective assessment of your foundation of knowledge and skills.

    The ParaPro Assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction. It was designed to satisfy the requirements of the federally legislated No Child Left Behind Act.

    The ParaPro test is timed for 2.5 hours and consists of 90 multiple-choice questions in Reading, Writing, and Math.

    State and School District Score Requirements for the State of Idaho is 460. Test takers must meet or exceed this qualifying score to pass the ParaPro Assessment.

    Official score reports arrive by mail approximately 2–3 weeks after the test date. A copy is also sent to the designated score recipient. It includes the background information and educational information the test taker registered with, and the pass/no pass information for the designated recipient.

    ProV uses specialized tools and assessments designed for unique entities worldwide. ProV offers certification and licensing for the following industries:

  • Scantron

    Scantron provides testing and training design, development, and delivery services to certification and licensure organizations, corporations, educational institutions, government agencies, and trade and professional associations.

    Once you schedule your exam with Scantron, they will send us your test appointment. Please bring your valid (non-expired) government-issued photo ID with you on test day.

  • Defensive Driving

    Defensive Driving Course Approved by the Idaho Department of Transportation

    • Receive a 3-point reduction on an Idaho Driver's License record. The Idaho Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles allows individuals to take the course for a 3-point reduction once every three years.
    • Satisfy a court order
    • Reduce insurance premiums. Check with your insurance carrier to determine rate reduction.

    Earning a Certificate of Completion
    To receive credit for the course and to receive your Certificate of Completion to satisfy court or DMV requirements, you must take the final exam in person at one of our Testing Centers. You will need to schedule your appointment at least 12 hours before your desired test time by visiting cwi.edu/exam. The fee for this exam is $40.

    Test Requirements:

    • You MUST bring photo identification. No exceptions. 
    • You will be required to complete a written final exam. You may review or re-take the course online for FREE until you pass.
    • The final exam contains 25 multiple-choice questions and should take about 15-30 minutes to complete.
    • You must pass the exam with a score of 80% or higher (20+ questions answered correctly).

    Be aware, only the test site has the Log-in/Log-out verification that proves you completed your on-line program. No other driving school has access to your information.

  • Crane Institute

    *In regards to the notice put out by OSHA regarding the validity of CIC accreditation, CIC has been working toward a change in its accreditation provider to ANSI, a recognized name in the industry, and we expect the process to be finished shortly. Per the notice given by OSHA, CIC operators who have already acquired their certification before December 2, 2019 are not at risk of being cited by OSHA inspectors and their certifications remain as valid as they were previously. CIC has placed a temporary hold on testing for new crane operator certifications until the ANSI approval is complete, after which business will resume as usual. CIC is continuing to offer the Rigger/Signalperson certification at this time.*

    CWI partners with the Crane Institute of America and Assessment Systems to offer Crane Operator and Rigger Certification exams in the following areas:

    Crane Operator:

    • Telescoping Boom Cranes
    • Lattice Boom Cranes
    • Tower Cranes
    • Multi-Purpose Cranes

    Rigger Certification:

    • Rigger/Signalperson
    • Master Rigger
