Local Entrepreneurs Series Welcomes Connie Miller
The Local Entrepreneurs Series, presented by College of Western Idaho’s Business Department and Entrepreneurs Club, is proud to welcome Connie Miller to campus. Miller has over 25 years of executive-level leadership experience, including over 11 years as President and CEO of Icon Credit Union, a $290 million financial institution which ranks in the top two percent of healthiest credit unions in the nation and recognized as one of Idaho’s Best Places to Work the past several years.
Be one of the first to get a sneak peek into the life-changing content discussed in her recently released book, “Don’t Sabotage Your Career”. Learn why education and knowledge is not enough to grow your career and power-filled ways to succeed.

Common Read Series: Me Too and Reconciliation
College of Western Idaho’s Common Read Series presents “Me Too and Reconciliation” Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 10:00 – 11:15 a.m. at the Ada County Campus Pintail Center in the commons area.
The Common Read Series encourages audience members and speakers to take part by reading a common book or document, and arrive ready to engage in a rousing, yet respectful, conversation about the ideas encapsulated in the selected reading. “Me Too and Reconciliation” will focus on writing central to the #MeToo movement and gender equality.
Documents discussed can be found on Blackboard in MyCommons and will include:
- “The Silence” by Junot Díaz
- “Reconciling Rage and Compassion” by Aya de Leon

Stonecrop Magazine Now Accepting Submissions
Stonecrop, College of Western Idaho’s student-run, literary magazine, is now accepting submissions for its next issue to be released this spring. Writers and artists are encouraged to submit original fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and art. General and cover art submissions are due by Feb. 14.
Additionally, Stonecrop and Storyfort, a branch of Boise’s annual Treefort Music Fest, are proud to present Storyfort Micro-Fiction Contest 2019. Literary minds are invited to write, read, and enrich listeners with original works. Entries, due by March 1, will be judged by Storyfort guest, Reema Zaman, an award-winning author, speaker, and actress. In addition to prizes like Treefort passes and Storyfort swag, winners of this year’s contest will be published in the next issue of Stonecrop and invited to read their submissions on the final day of Storyfort.

Spring 2019 Transfer Fair
College of Western Idaho invites you to the Spring 2019 Transfer Fair! College and university representatives will be on-campus to discuss programs, majors, and transfer requirements. This one-day event will be held at two different campus locations:

Cybersecurity Awareness: Secure Printing
Sensitive information can be printed using the secure print option. Documents will not print until you swipe your ID card at a printer to retrieve them. Secure print also allows you to print from your workstation and retrieve your documents from any printer on campus using your ID card.
