Final Exams Preparation Strategies
Learn strategies to enhance your preparation for final exams.
This workshop will discuss:
- 5 – 7 day study plans
- tips for reviewing lecture notes, textbook readings, additional course material, and critical summary exam review notes
- test taking strategies for various types of exams including essay, short response, matching, true/false, multiple choice, and online exams
- test stress reductions tips

Memory Retention Strategies
Learn strategies for enhancing memory retention for in-class lectures, textbook readings, and online course content.
This workshop will discuss:
- interesting brain facts
- the forgetting curve
- basic concepts on how the brain stores information utilizing encoding, storage, and retrieval techniques
- differences between short-term and long-term memory, schemas, procedural versus declarative knowledge, and multi-sensory strategies
- The six basic forgetting theories and the Twelve Principles of Memory will also be covered.

Learn strategies for enhancing listening and note-taking skills for in-person, hybrid, and online courses.

This workshop has concluded for the Fall 2022 semester.

Writing Center Brainstorming Workshop
These workshops have concluded for Fall 2022.
Do you need help starting on your paper? Are you stuck on a topic or having trouble with starting your research? Maybe you don't have an assignment yet, but you want to prepare yourself for success? Come join us for a workshop on brainstorming solutions to all types of writing needs.
At this workshop, you will:
- connect with Writing Center tutors
- get great tips on how to brainstorm paper topics based on assignment requirements
- learn how to take a topic and begin organizing and writing your paper
- meet and collaborate with other students
- learn about additional resources around campus to help with your writing
Students interested in these workshops are welcome to walk in before the workshops begin — no sign up necessary.
