Beta Sigma Pi (PTK)
Beta Sigma Pi is an Honor Society at the College of Western Idaho. We are not a sorority, fraternity, or club. We are a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and part of the Rocky Mountain Cascade Region, which includes Idaho, Utah, and Oregon. Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society has over 1,300 chapters and 3.25 million members worldwide.
The Beta Sigma Pi Chapter is ranked in the PTK International Top 40 Chapters and has received numerous international, regional, and member awards. We are a group of enthusiastic individuals who enjoy learning and helping others whenever and wherever we can while striving for academic excellence.
The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize academic achievement of college students and to provide opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders. Our purpose at the College of Western Idaho is the promotion of scholarship, development of leadership, promotion of service, and cultivation of fellowship among members, faculty, and students.
Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings, workshops, and volunteer functions regardless of membership status. However, in order to become a member of Phi Theta Kappa and receive the full benefits that membership provides, students need to have earned at least twelve college credits, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher, and adhere to the school conduct code. We invite eligible students to join at the beginning of each semester. Students should note that PTK honors is different from CWI institutional honors (which requires a 3.5 GPA or higher). PTK members are welcome to purchase their honors regalia before graduation or can earn free regalia by participating in chapter meetings, projects, and activities.
For any questions about eligibility, membership, graduation requirements, and more, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
