Active Aggressor Response

You are here

When responding to an active aggressor, there are three basic options: RUN, HIDE, or FIGHT.

  • RUN – Evacuate. If an escape route is accessible, attempt to evacuate the premises.
  • HIDE – If evacuation is not possible, find a place to hide where an active aggressor is less likely to see you.
  • FIGHT – Take action against the active aggressor.

Quickly determine the most reasonable way to protect your own life. College of Western Idaho (CWI) employees must be cognizant that students or visitors are likely to follow their lead in an active aggressor event and should review the standard operating procedure regularly.

Run, Hide, Fight Training

Active aggressor events are unpredictable and evolve quickly. CWI encourages our campus community to review the Run, Hide, Fight video below to prepare for these types of situations. Please be aware, the content of the video below may be disturbing.
