About me:
Amber joined CWI as a staff interpreter in 2024. She began her interpreting career with the West Ada School District in 2017 and obtained her State of Idaho interpreting license in 2022. She has also worked within the freelance community. Born in Idaho but raised around the world in a military family, Amber returned to Idaho in 2011 with aspirations of becoming a nurse. However, after one semester in ASL101 at CWI, she discovered her passion for working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Amber continued her education at Idaho State University and graduated with her B.S. in Sign Language Interpreting in 2017.
Amber is an avid reader and a craft enthusiast; you can usually find her engaged in these hobbies during her free time. She has two sons with her long-time partner; one is currently working towards his HVAC certification at CWI, and the other is a junior at a local high school. As a family, they enjoy camping, hiking the foothills, and biking along the Boise Greenbelt.
