Mikkel earned his B.A. in Elementary Ed at LCSC and M.S. in Deaf Education at ISU. He has a profound hearing loss in both ears since birth and uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate. He teaches ASL at CWI and BSU. He is also a Deaf Mentor for the Idaho Educational Services for the Deaf and the Blind (IESDB), teaches ASL to parents and/or families that have a Deaf or Hard of Hearing child in their home. He has worked with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children for the last 15 years. He is married with 3 children. He enjoys traveling around the world!
