Jana McCurdy graduated from the University of Idaho with B.S. and M.S. degrees in psychology. Her research focus included cognitive psychology, subjective risk estimates and training methods. She also did research at General Motors and Virginia Tech in vehicle safety and group decision making.
Jana's previous experiences include writing for Gardner News in Kansas, teaching community education classes, and serving as a public liaison for the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. She enjoyed living and teaching in Papua New Guinea for 3 years. Jana started teaching psychology classes at CWI in 2010. In addition to teaching, she coordinated the Liberal Arts degree and the General Education program from 2016 to 2019. Currently, Jana serves as the Department Chair of Social Sciences and teaches in that department also.
When not at CWI, Jana and her husband enjoy travel, hiking, camping, and photography. They have two grown children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. They enjoy family gatherings to play Settlers of Catan, Pinochle, or just to visit.
