Gary Taylor is a retired policer (1994-2013) between two California agencies. He is a member of the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology in order to network with mental health professionals that deal with law enforcement trauma. He has his (B.A.) degree in Art, (M.S.) in Criminology from California State University, Fresno, and his doctorate (Psy.D.) in Organizational Development from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, Fresno.
Gary has created an intervention program to help law enforcement officers, administrators and other first responders to become more aware of the benefits of mental health treatment. He has consulted police agencies, spoken at conferences, created a videography on police mental health and organizational culture, and was invited by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training to participate in updating the training guide on how law enforcement deal with the general publics’ mental health.
Gary has experience being a Field Training Officer (FTO), peer support officer, defensive tactics, report writing, and search/seizure instructor. He has taught criminology at various colleges to include CSU Fresno since 2015. He recently moved to Idaho for love of the outdoors and to become a part of the CWI family.
