A 2008 graduate of the surgical technology program, Mr. Pietrzak immediately found a passion for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. After several years working at Saint Luke’s Health System as a Certified Surgical Technologist, he attained additional credentialing as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. In over a decade in the operating room, Mr. Pietrzak specialized in hybrid open and catheter-based approaches for vascular and cardiac procedures, with particular interest in visceral and renal artery disease, aortic aneurysm endografting, and percutaneous treatment of cardiac valvular disease. In addition to his work in Boise, he also spent part of his career at the University of Michigan, where he was able to participate in the development of a novel approach to minimally invasive aortic valve replacement.
Mr Pietrzak joined the faculty of the Surgical Technology Program at CWI in 2018, and also serves as the program’s clinical coordinator. In addition to his clinical credentialing, Mr. Pietrzak holds a BA in Multidisciplinary Studies from Boise State University, and is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development, with an emphasis in Career and Technical Education.
