Emily Bergstrom started teaching at CWI in fall of 2022 as an adjunct and became a full-time instructor in fall of 2024. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Emily has been in the fields of school and mental health counseling for more than 20 years, specializing in work with at-risk youth. After more than a decade with the Boise School District, Emily went on to co-found Cardinal Academy, a trauma-informed, public charter school tailored to the needs of pregnant and parenting young adults.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Emily specialized in attachment theory and somatic practices, including mindfulness and yoga. She is passionate about sleep, regulated nervous systems, and prioritizing mental health.

In her free time, Emily likes to read, work in the garden and spend time with her tween, teen, husband and dog.
