Though I was born and spent my childhood in Baltimore, Maryland, Boise has been my home for most of my life. My husband and I have two sons (both born and raised in Boise) who are both in college. One is at C of I, the other is at BSU. My husband does IT for BSU. It only made sense that I choose to teach at CWI. We have the Treasure Valley covered.
I have a BA from The College of Idaho, MA from Washington State University, and Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University (all my degrees are in American Studies). I taught English at the college level until my sons were born, then took a few years off to stay at home with them while they were young.
I taught part-time for a few years teaching English/Writing courses at Boise Cascade and Micron (through the Center for Workforce Training when it was at BSU), then taught high school English, History, and Humanities where my children were in Jr./Sr. High. We are a family who loves to travel and we spend every spare dollar (and minute) seeing as much of the country and parts of Europe that we can; when we're not traveling or working we're reading or watching movies I'm thrilled to be back in the college classroom after my 20-year hiatus and enjoy working with the incredible range of students who make up CWI.
