Dave Kerr has been the Chair for the Computer Science and Information Technology Department since August of 2022. Twice certified as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) he has also taught everything from World History and Religion to Robotics, Video Editing, and Photoshop – along with the CCNA classes of course! He has almost 30 years of teaching experience at every level, and is excited to be working at CWI!
Dave holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University (NNU), a M.A. in Instructional Technology from San Francisco State University, and a M.A. in Pastoral Ministries from NNU. He and his family served as missionaries overseas for 10 years where he taught courses and developed networks—even in the jungles of Papua New Guinea where the cost for 256K upload and 256K download was $1,500 per month!
Dave was raised traveling around the world because his father was in the Air Force. He grew up in places like Canada, Germany, Denmark, and even Nebraska! He teaches Tok Pisin for the National Guard, and speaks Indonesian, but is forgetting his Danish and German. He loves soccer, fishing with his amazing family, attending his daughter’s sporting events, and fixing things. He is married to his best friend, Dr. Rosie Kerr, and is blessed with two wonderful daughters, Grace and Anna. Come visit Dave at the APIN building – his door is always open – well, almost always!
