Benjamin Anders holds a PhD in History and Political Philosophy from The New School for Social Research in New York City, where he was the recipient of the Hannah Arendt Award in Politics for his doctoral dissertation. He has been published in such venues as the Irish Journal of Sociology, St. Antony’s International Review, and Juventas Journal of Philosophy. His academic work is at the junction of political philosophy, comparative history, and constitutional theory. Rather than pursue a traditional academic career, he chose to work as an independent scholar to write books that bring philosophical and historical themes to more general audiences. He also enjoys work as a part time community college professor and writing tutor. When not reading, writing, and teaching, he takes deep pleasure in time with loved ones, as well as hiking, gym-going, travel, gardening, and the occasional chocolate cupcake.
