Mrs. Payne truly enjoys teaching at the College of Western Idaho, nutrition education is one of her life passions. She truly believes knowledge is power. If we have an understanding of how to properly fuel our bodies, we can use that information to better our own lives and those of our families, friends, and patients.
Mrs. Payne has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Utah State University in Nutrition and Dietetics and Dietetic Administration. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for almost 20 years, with most of that time being spent in nutrition education. Mrs. Payne worked with dietetic students at Utah State University, taught introductory nutrition courses at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, did individual nutrition counseling, and taught cooking and nutrition classes for kids. She is a mom of 5 and enjoys running, traveling, cooking, attending sporting events, and eating good food.
She is looking forward to helping many students on their nutrition journey here at CWI.
