Connections Project Moves Online
College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) Connections Project has moved online for 2020. The focus will continue to be sharing and celebrating the great work of our students. Student work will be available to view by the CWI community beginning April 27. Details on how to access this work will be shared closer to this date.
Students are encouraged to submit their posters, mini-talks, and other cool projects in myCommons on BlackBoard by April 19. Work submitted by this date will be eligible for a Connections Excellence Award.

Remote Work Timeline
President Bert Glandon, in conjunction with President’s Cabinet, announced Friday, April 10, 2020, remote work for College of Western Idaho (CWI) employees will continue through May 1, 2020.
“Our teams have demonstrated tremendous results so far,” said Glandon. “Given that just this week students have been reengaging digitally, it is best to continue our current practice of remote work.”
CWI shifted to full-remote delivery of services earlier in March as part of a coordinated effort to responsibly support students and College functions during the COVID19 pandemic.
“Our faculty, Enrollment and Student Services staff, all our employees have been so positively and proactively working to help our students,” said Provost Denise Aberle-Cannata. “It’s a testament to the great commitment we see every day here at CWI.”
CWI leadership enacted remote work, social distancing guidelines, and other protocols to help curb the growth of contacted cases of COVID. Gov. Brad Little is expected to address the stay-at-home order he issued in late March early the week of April 13.
Summer 2020 Semester Moves Online
College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) Summer 2020 semester classes, beginning June 1, will convene completely online. As the College continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation, the decision to move to an online modality for summer classes is in the best interest of our students, staff, faculty, and CWI community.
“We are working with our deans, Registrar, and Center for Teaching and Learning to carefully review possible impacts to each student’s progression, as well as the impact to CWI,” said Provost Denise Aberle-Cannata. “Thank you for your continued flexibility and willingness to support students and do what is needed to get through the storm!”
