Board of Trustee Vacancy & Appointment

College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking applicants to fill a trustee position from Zone 4. Please read below for details on the application and appointment process. Applications will be accepted until the vacancy is filled. Please contact 208.562.3163 or trustees@cwi.edu with any questions.

Eligibility
- Must be an Idaho resident.
- Must live in Zone 4 of the CWI district
- Upon the declaration of vacancy, the remaining Board members shall appoint a new Board member who resides in the trustee zone where the vacancy occurs. The appointed Board member shall serve until the next trustee election, at which time a successor shall be elected for the unexpired term. I.C. § 33-2106(2).
- The next trustee election is scheduled for November 2024.
Preferred traits, values, and experiences include:
- demonstrated community leadership and involvement
- service-centric mindset
- business and financial acumen
- prior engagement with CWI
- prioritization of availability for meetings, including work sessions, community events, and other activities as needed
- ability to build and maintain relationships
Application Process
To apply for the Trustee position, please send the following to trustees@cwi.edu with Trustee Application in the subject line:
- Letter of interest addressing traits, values, and experiences and addressing current perspectives on community colleges, CWI, and serving students and the community.
- Review of background (CV or resume)
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Board of Trustees.
Please be advised: Any application materials shall be deemed a public record and subject to Idaho’s Public Records Law. Applicants may be discussed in regular or special meetings of the Board of Trustees.
Appointment Process
The Board anticipates completing their due diligence and vetting of a new Trustee at a future Board of Trustee meeting.
