Program Overview
Are you a certified Emergency Medical Technician ready to advance your skills in the dynamic field of emergency medicine? College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program is your next step. As an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), you will become a key member of the patient care team, adept at handling critical medical and trauma situations.
In our 18-week, in-person training program, you will engage in extensive lectures, participate in skills labs, and gain valuable field experience. Our classes, held twice a week for four hours each, are designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive learning experience. As an AEMT, you will develop skills in critical life support procedures including CPR, IV placement, advanced airway control, splinting, and hemorrhage control, all under the supervision of a Medical Director.
