Street Teams Help Future Students Explore CWI

Published: July 1, 2016

College of Western Idaho (CWI) hosted an open house style event on June 29, encouraging future students to come and explore the educational opportunities CWI has to offer. The Micron Center for Professional Technical Education hosted the event that streamlined the process of applying for school and financial aid, and signing up for classes, while answering questions about college. Over 300 attendees and their families came to the Micron Center. The CWI Veteran’s Association kept the crowds entertained and engaged while waiting for their chance to process and Presidential Ambassadors made sure people were fed and guided in the right direction.

The best part of this event from a Street Teams perspective was to see all the people ready to embark on their educational endeavors.  Most Street Teams efforts are held within the community during an already scheduled event that CWI sponsors and the focus is getting people interested in the college and to attend and event like Explore CWI. The Explore event is different, however, with an audience of people already passionate and excited for their futures. These attendees are ready to make a difference in their futures, which mean the Street Team’s job was to make the occasion welcoming.

The Street Team members had a great time and can’t wait to see these students on campus in Fall!
