Jose Martinez, a second-year student in College of Western Idaho’s Automotive Technology program, turned his lifelong passion for cars into a promising career path.

As Idaho’s tech industry expands, the demand for mechatronics technicians is rising. CWI’s latest recruitment campaign, “What is Mechatronics” aims to define mechatronics with the goal of attracting students to this critical workforce need.

Kathleen Burns-Wick transformed her career path by pursuing Mechatronics at College of Western Idaho, trading art and optics for automation and innovation. Now preparing to graduate, she’s proof that it’s never too late to learn new skills and build a future in a high-demand field.

College of Western Idaho's (CWI) Associated Students of College of Western Idaho (ASCWI) is accepting applications for the student government for the 2025 – 2026 academic year.

Students, volunteers, and community members gathered at CWI’s new arboretum to plant 40 trees in celebration of Arbor Day, helping grow Nampa’s first true arboretum and supporting hands-on learning at CWI.

The third annual College of Western Idaho Giving Day raised $43,093 to support students and future opportunities.
