What must I do to be accepted into the CWI Law Enforcement (LE) Program?
One Stop can provide you with a pre-application form to complete between the February-May deadlines specifically listed on the Law Enforcement Application. Please submit your completed pre-application to the One Stop and they will forward to Brett Reid. He will review it and contact each applicant concerning eligibility. If all criteria are met, you will have a personal interview with Mr Reid. Accepted applicants must turn 18 on or before the first day of class.
If you are selected to move on from the interview phase, you will be given a comprehensive application packet from the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Academy. The packet includes vision, hearing, and medical exams that must be completed. The packet also contains sensitive information regarding background information, drug history, and legal history. Once fully completed, the packet is sent off to POST for a background investigation and clearance procedure. Once the packet is cleared, the student is required to take a polygraph exam and a fitness qualification test. If both exams are passed, the student is eligible for the program.
