  • About Math 095 and the Math Solutions Center

CWI offers MATH 095 to help students prepare for a college credit math course, a 100-level course.  Students may be required to complete College Prep Math based on ACT, SAT, or Math Diagnostic placement scores.  If a student has a ACT, or SAT score, they also need to take the Math Diagnostic at a CWI Assessment Center to determine the Unit of content in Math 095 where they begin.  The Math Diagnostic gives students the opportunity to test-out of units of Math 095 content.

    Course Information

    • MATH 095 is divided into 12 units.
      • Please refer to your specific course prerequisites to determine the number of MATH 095 units required for your college-level courses.
    • Credit completion is pass/no pass.
    • Coursework is completed using the Pearson’s online MyLabMath for interactive assignments, , checkpoint quizzes, and tests with required levels of mastery.
    • Unit Tests must be taken in a proctored environment.  Specific details will be provided

    Math Diagnostic Sequence

    • Students will take the Math Diagnostic prior to the first week of the semester. Students will do this at one of the CWI Assessment Center locations. The results of the Diagnostic will determine the Unit in the MATH 095 content in which each student will begin.
    • Spending time studying the Diagnostic Reviews before taking the Math Diagnostic can help students better prepare and save time and money by allowing them to “test out” of already-mastered content.”
    • Students will not be expected to complete homework, quizzes, or tests for any Unit in which they have demonstrated mastery on the Math Diagnostic Test.
    • This may reduce the number of credits required to meet the prerequisites for enrollment in college-level mathematics courses.
    • For students previously enrolled in Math 095 mastered units will remain in a student's record for enrollment in a subsequent semester of Math 095.

    Schedule and Instruction

Students may register for either online or on-campus sections of MATH 095.  On-campus sections are available at both Nampa and Ada Campus locations, and meet for 75 minutes twice per week.
