Valerie Lee joined the Tutoring Services team as Assistant Director in January 2020. Prior to working at CWI, she spent seven years in higher education doing a variety of things: teaching introductory biology courses including anatomy & physiology lectures and labs, advising students, and working in Career and Testing Services. Though she loved teaching, she found that some of her most fulfilling moments were working one-on-one with students to develop their study and test taking skills so she was thrilled to be able to transition into Tutoring full time. She is passionate about education and loves being able to help tutors and students reach their educational and professional goals.

Valerie and her husband are new to the Treasure Valley and most recently relocated from the Midwest, where Valerie grew up. She enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking and rock climbing (although she is afraid of heights) but is also perfectly content to curl up with a good book or write her own stories. Her favorite animal in the cheetah – if you get a chance, ask her about the time that one bit her!
