Phi Theta Kappa Member Receives National Scholarship
College of Western Idaho student, Elizabeth Carter has been named a 2018 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new Phi Theta Kappa members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs.
“The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has a long history of providing financial assistance to outstanding students at community colleges,” said Jane Hale Hopkins, Executive Vice President and President-Elect of the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
A total of $207,000 is awarded through the Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation provides $200,000 in funding for the scholarships. Twenty-five of these scholarships are earmarked for society members who are active personnel or veterans of the U.S. Military.
Visiting Artist Series Welcomes Shimi Tree Performance Group
College of Western Idaho Visiting Artist Series welcomes the Shimi Tree Performance Group to campus Oct. 18 and 19, for a performance and workshop.
The group loves both traditional Spanish art form Flamenco as well as the style of Flamenco called Rumba. Their goal is to share their passion of Flamenco’s forms with the audience by encouraging fans to dance, sing, and clap along to the rumbas.
They will be performing at the Nampa Campus Academic Building, second-floor atrium, on Oct. 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
2019 Connections Project Logo Contest
The College of Western Idaho (CWI) Connections Project celebrates culture, collaboration, education, innovation, and achievement. We are calling upon current CWI students to showcase their talent in design to incorporate this mission statement into the new 2019 Connections Project logo! The winning logo will be used for all of the marketing surrounding the event and the designer will receive a $100 cash prize!
Deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.

Fall 2018 Transfer Fair
College of Western Idaho invites you to the Fall 2018 Transfer Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 9! College and university representatives will be on-campus to discuss programs, majors, and transfer requirements. This is a one-day event and the two times will be to serve the different campus locations:
