New Scholarship for Veteran Students

Published: February 9, 2018

College of Western Idaho (CWI) strives to be a destination of choice for our nation’s veterans.

The Boise Chapter Two Division of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) group recognizes the struggles veteran students may encounter when embarking on their academic journey. Because of this, the organization recently partnered with the CWI Foundation to create a scholarship specifically for veteran students. This amazing $20,000 investment will fund the $500 DAV Scholarship awarded once a semester to a CWI veteran student and/or an immediate family member.

“This is the first scholarship of its kind at the College,” said Craig Brown, Vice President of Operations. "We are honored to be involved in this partnership and excited for the opportunity to assist our veteran students."

By providing veteran specific services and assistance, CWI hopes to enhance the college experience of prospective and enrolled veteran students and their dependents.

The CWI Foundation scholarships application period is now open for the 2018-19 academic year. Visit our Grants and Scholarships page to learn more or apply. The application period closes April 30, 2018.
