CWI Street Teams Jam With Over 50 Bands and Six Stages

Published: June 30, 2014

The Boise Music Festival started early and with the Horticulture club kicking off the Street Team efforts to bring the message of community college to an anticipated crowd of 80,000 people!  This team was busy and didn’t stick to the streets; they took their message off the beaten path. While showing off her hacky sack skills, Jacqueline shared degree options with concert goers. The team engaged in some terrific conversations about attending college while waiting for Train to take the stage. Lindsey, Andrea and, Jacqueline even found undecided students already registered for classes in the fall at CWI while Taylor, Jessica and, Patti were rubbing elbows with CWI Alums all over the park. With the awesome addition of the carnival this year, the Horticulture Club had an amazing ride at the Boise Music Festival.

Next the Art club jammed in with their creativity and created shadow art announcing, “I love CWI.”  Wanting to lift their community to higher education, the swelling crowds enveloped them and enjoyed the free CWI swag as they created visions of the future with a degree from CWI. LMFAO was announced to be on the stage in 15 min. and the team lined up at the edge of the grass to better mingle with the crowd. Ashley, Amandalyn, Amanda and, Teresa reached an amazing amount of people, conversing about their future being bright and providing the most popular item of the day, the CWI sunglasses!

The Exercise and Health Science club’s shift started with thousands of attendees already there.  Mitch, Brianna and, Austin stuck together as a team and within an hour saw a very surprised natural street teamer. Austin emerged as a powerful influencer that could approach strangers easily, make new friends quickly and, invite a wide variety of people to checkout CWI. His team encouraged him and was able to take his example and dive into the crowd and duplicate his example inviting future students to apply now for fall classes.  Keeping up with the flow of energy from the crowd, the Exercise and Health Science Club finished strong.
