Allison Baker, College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) Interim Program Chair for Nursing, has been selected as CWI’s July Faculty of Distinction.
Baker has taught for 12 years, including the last eight at CWI. She graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and received her master’s degree from the University of Virginia. In August she will begin a doctoral program with Idaho State University. She was nominated by a student, who had the following to say:
“Professor Baker has been a steadfast advocate for the students in the program and has sacrificed time, energy and probably sanity to ensure that we are able to finish our program. She answers countless emails to each student and has demonstrated immense patience and grace in an extremely stressful situation. She is very well admired and respected by the nursing program's class of 2016 and we will certainly owe much of our success to her dedication and fortitude!”
In her spare time, Baker enjoys camping and fishing with her fiancé, and spending time with their children. Please congratulate Allison on being selected as CWI's Faculty of Distinction for July.
