The Emerging Scholars Committee is pleased to announce College of Western Idaho’s 2020 Emerging Scholars. Nominated by faculty, students were selected based on their commitment to learning, perseverance, innovative thinking, leadership, and professionalism in and outside of the classroom. Each Emerging Scholar was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to use toward furthering their excellence.
“More than anything, this scholarship stands as a testament to CWI of their dedication to continued student success especially during a time such as this,” said 2020 Emerging Scholar, Austin VanCamp. “Because of CWI, I am able to finally reach my educational and professional goals through affordable tuition and faculty and staff who truly invest in Idaho’s future.”
“Austin’s commitment and intellectual curiosity fits the mold of an Emerging Scholar,” said nominating faculty and Cybersecurity instructor, Troy Taylor. “His thirst for knowledge is impressive, and he always seems to have the answer to a question. His academic commitment and dedication deserve recognition. Not only is he studious, but he is eager to step up and aid struggling fellow students.”
