CWI Employees Supporting Animal Shelter

Published: August 15, 2014

The College of Western Idaho (CWI) Fun and Culture Committee (FCC) is striving to provide more community outreach through volunteer opportunities. As part of this initiative the FCC is planning to begin supporting the Canyon County Animal Shelter on a regular basis. The FCC would like to invite all employees to join the volunteer effort.

In the past the FCC has supported activities like Rake-Up Nampa and Race for the Cure, while also leading volunteer efforts like hosting a book drive for the Canyon-Owyhee School Service Agency (COSSA) library. The FCC still plans to participate in these annual events but would like to commit to helping other organizations in our community on a regular basis.

The Canyon County Animal Shelter needs help walking dogs, brushing cats, and other projects around the facility. In order to help with the animals, volunteers must complete an orientation session. The FCC has secured a spot in the next orientation session on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Canyon County Animal Shelter.

Anyone interested in volunteering please contact Lindsay Reynolds at lindsayreynolds@cwi.edu or 208.562.2377.
