The College's Pre-Mechatronics program earned national recognition for its partnership with Micron, creating a new pathway that prepares adult learners for careers in advanced manufacturing.
Micron Technology celebrated the graduation of its first apprenticeship cohort and welcomed new participants on Aug. 6, highlighting its partnership with College of Western Idaho to train skilled technicians for Idaho’s growing semiconductor industry. Micron Technology, Inc. announced a new $15 billion manufacturing facility in Boise. It is the first new memory fab in the U.S. in 20 years and will create an estimated 17,000 new American jobs. As part of that expansion, Micron has named College of Western Idaho as a core education partner.
