The College of Western Idaho (CWI) teamed up with Nampa Parks and Recreation Department again to help present a public screening of the movie Minions at Optimist Park in Nampa. CWI hosted a booth while the student Street Team provided entertainment and engaged with the community. Members of the College’s Exercise and Health Science club led the Street Team efforts.
Prior to the movie starting, the Street Team headed into the crowds and spoke with many Nampa residents about the opportunities the college is bringing to their community. Their message and giveaways were well received. Attendees were pleased to hear about all the professional-technical and healthcare options the college offers. Some of the smaller children even got excited about the opportunities CWI will be able to provide them in the future.
The student’s passion about bettering their futures can be seen in their interaction at these community events. Although this is the last Silver Screen event for the summer, CWI looks forward to returning next summer to continue showing its support for Nampa!
