Scholarships are awarded based on diverse criteria such as GPA, program of study, cohort status, first-generation student status, or demonstrated financial need. Best of all, scholarships from CWI, CWI Foundation, State of Idaho, and external sources typically do not require repayment.
Applying for Scholarships
Applying for scholarships is a breeze at CWI! By simply answering the first 5 sections of questions in the CWI Scholarship Portal, you are automatically considered for most available CWI scholarships. Additionally, you can explore over 10,000 external opportunities thoroughly vetted within the portal.
To access the CWI Scholarship Portal, you must apply to CWI, be accepted, and log in using your CWI login information. To get matched with scholarships requiring financial need criteria, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to accessing the CWI Scholarship Portal.

State Scholarships
Idaho LAUNCH
Idaho LAUNCH is a grant program that provides students with a one-time opportunity to have 80% of the tuition and fees for an in-demand career program. This grant covers up to $8,000 over three years, and students are eligible to have 80% of their tuition and fees covered per semester with a max of $4,000 for the first year. This grant does not cover books, supplies, or other educational expenses.
Eligibility:
- Graduate from an Idaho high school or equivalent.
- Be an Idaho resident.
- Be enrolled in or have applied to an in-demand career program.
- Begin enrollment by fall semester after graduation, unless granted an extension.
- Complete a Career Pathway Plan or equivalent, submitted for approval by each district.
- Review the approved list of eligible in-demand careers.
Idaho Opportunity
The Idaho Opportunity Scholarship awards eligible applicants up to $3,500 per academic year. This scholarship requires completion of the FAFSA since the student must demonstrate their financial need. Recipients must renew each year by March 1 and are eligible to receive the scholarship for a maximum of four years.
Eligibility:
- Have an unweighted, cumulative GPA of at least 2.7.
- Be an Idaho resident.
- Graduated or will graduate from an Idaho high school or equivalent.
- Must attend during the upcoming academic year (fall semester).
- Must be pursuing a certificate, associate, or first bachelor's degree.
- Complete the FAFSA by March 1.

CWI is proud to partner with the IDeal Idaho College Savings Program to promote education and increase opportunities for post-secondary success with CWIDeal Boost. CWIDeal Boost offers incentives to students and families saving for college through IDeal, including a matching scholarship opportunity of up to $500 per semester for qualifying CWI students.
