Honors Program

Maximize your educational experience, and become a leader in the classroom and out in the community as a member of College of Western Idaho's (CWI) Honors Program. Complete your degree while engaging in academic, social, and civic opportunities created to expand the depth and scope of your knowledge and develop interpersonal and professional skills.

  • Gain automatic acceptance into honors programs at Boise State University, Idaho State University, University of Idaho, or The College of Idaho when you transfer.

Eligibility

The Honors Program is open to incoming, full-time, first-time, degree-seeking students with at least one of the following qualifications:

  • 3.5 unweighted GPA
  • GED score between 600 and 650
  • Strong letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer

How to Apply

Applications are accepted during spring semester and reviewed as they are received. With only 30 students selected to join the two-year program each fall, we encourage you to apply early to increase your chance of acceptance. 

Once admitted to CWI, interested students will complete the Honors Program application which will require:

  • Evidence of your current GPA, GED, or letter of recommendation.
  • A list of your achievements and involvement (e.g., academic background, extra-curricular activities, community service, work history, etc.)
  • Personal written or video introduction and response to one of three prompts provided on the application.
