College of Western Idaho (CWI) celebrated its newest transfer partnership on Wednesday (Sept. 9) welcoming the University of Idaho (UI) to campus to launch VandaLink, which provides benefits to CWI students interested in transferring to UI. The event included a program fair with information about UI programs and transfer opportunities, a formal handshake between the schools, and a dessert social. ITD Shares I-84 Construction Update
The Idaho Transportation Department has announced a change to the traffic pattern on I-84 near the new Meridian Road interchange that is expected to impact individuals traveling to and from College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) campuses. Starting next week, I-84 will be temporarily reduced to two lanes at the Meridian Interchange as construction crews work to rebuild the outside lanes and shoulders.
These changes are expected to result in significant delays for I-84 commuters across the Treasure Valley. Lanes will be opened as soon as they are finished being built. This work will be complete by early November. For more information on the project visit www.itd.idaho.gov/MeridianInterchange.
Wishing Well Fund Applications Being Accepted
The College of Western Idaho (CWI) Foundation is happy to announce it is now accepting applications for the Wishing Well Fund. CWI Faculty and Staff can apply for the Wishing Well Fund, which was once called program mini grants, through Sept. 18. The newly-revamped fund supports small items and student learning opportunities that are not typically funded through department budgets. Essentially, it is intended for resources and activities that foster learning or support students but are not deemed necessary.
CWI faculty and staff are the driving force behind student success. Don’t miss out on this opportunity; submit an application now. Sharing in Bert's Alerts
Each semester at College of Western Idaho (CWI) means the return of a number of wonderful activities occurring throughout the College. The Marketing and Advancement Department encourages employees to share these happenings through Bert’s Alerts. Activities may include events, recognition of employees and students, changes in processes or policies that affect employees, or simply letting peers know what is going on in departments or campus locations.
Bert’s Alerts requests can be submitted through Help Desk, by selecting “Marketing” under the Request Type drop down menu. Bert’s Alerts is distributed every Friday and the deadline for submitting content is end of day Thursday. Please direct all questions regarding Bert’s Alerts to communications@cwi.edu.
