“After being laid-off back in the crash of '08, I started a new career thanks to CWI's Workforce Development courses. THANK YOU CWI---I like my NEW career in EMS much more than the one that I had (and thought I was "happy) when I got laid off.”

News Highlights
Canyon County Center Parking Lot Closure
The CWI Canyon County Center parking lot will be partially closed beginning next Monday June 1,2015 in efforts to complete a full parking lot replacement. The project will be completed in two phases leaving the front section of the parking lot available for ADA access as well as some general parking. Completion of phase 1, is slated for mid-July. Upon completion of phase I, phase II will then begin with the goal of being completed prior to the start of Fall 2015 Semester. Download a map outlining the area of impact for phase I. Phase I Map
We apologize for the inconvenience and late notice. Due to the aggressive schedule of this project and contractor availability June 1 was the only date that worked. In anticipation of the projects we have attempted to reduce our summer schedule to accommodate the decrease in parking. We appreciate your understanding during this time, and we will be closely monitoring parking throughout the process.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact Facilities Planning & Management at 208.562.3545.
Nampa Campus Signage Updates Continue
College of Western Idaho (CWI) is partnering with Image National to continue work on the Wayfinding System installation for CWI’s Nampa Campus. Earlier this year banners were mounted on light poles throughout the Campus to assist in creation of the “college district”. Next, updated artwork for the pylon signs at the Micron Center for Professional Technical Education has been installed. These signs incorporated the overall wayfinding design, helping to bring consistency to all of the directional and district signage across Nampa Campus.
Over the next two months additional directional and district signage will be installed around the Aspen complex and Academic Building. The install will include more banners, directional signage, as well as building names above the entrances.
The complete plan and Wayfinding System Manual may be viewed at mycwi.cc.
CWI Promoting Online Reviews
The College of Western Idaho (CWI) has introduced a new public relations initiative aimed at increasing online reviews about the College. CWI’s Reputation Management program encourages current students, supporters, alumni, business partners, community members, and incoming students who have interacted with CWI to share a review of the services they received.
To raise awareness for the program, CWI has created promotional business cards, flyers, email templates, and electronic signatures that are available for faculty and staff to use when promoting the initiative. Materials are available to download on myCWI under College Resources > Communications and Marketing > Resources > Templates.
The College has also unveiled a new webpage, cwi.edu/reviews, which allows students a platform to share their experience and links to post a review or recommendation on Google and Facebook.
CWI’s electronic newsletters have been updated to include a new section for Rave Reviews that will share the great experiences and interactions posted online.
Anyone interested in learning more about CWI’s Reputation Management program, including ordering promotional business cards, should contact Morriah Marks at 208.562.3238 or morriahmarks@cwi.edu.
