One Stop Expands Hours
In response to student demand, One Stop Student Services is expanding hours! Beginning Jan. 2, the Nampa Campus Micron Education Center and Ada County Campus Lynx Building One Stop offices will open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday,10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of every month.
One Stop is happy to ensure open access for all, with operational hours to best serve students at the College. Find more information about the new hours as well as holiday closures at cwi.edu/onestop.
It’s Budget Time!
It is time to create and submit budgets for FY19. Budget managers and staff who have received training from Courtney Smith should have access to their budget plan files.
All budgets must be submitted to the Budget Office by Friday, Jan. 19, 2018.
Training manuals can be found on the Budget Services site on myCWI.
For those needing assistance, a Go-To Meeting will be held Tuesdays, from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. beginning Tuesday, Dec. 12 — until requests are no longer being received.
Idaho Power Project
Beginning Dec. 18, Idaho Power will be working on a project near the College of Western Idaho Nampa Campus. The company will be installing underground electrical lines along North Idaho Center Boulevard. This work will require workers to bore underneath the Phyllis Canal and under Terra Linda Way. The installation of these lines will also require them to cross Achievement Drive which will result in the closure of this street. It is anticipated Achievement Drive will be closed from Dec. 18 to Jan. 15. During this time, the sidewalk stretching from Achievement Drive to Terra Linda Way will also be closed.
Students Visit Electronics Manufacturing Business
College of Western Idaho students in BUSA 101 – Introduction to Business had an opportunity to learn about a variety of business topics from marketing, to finance, and production.
Twenty-five students recently visited Plexus Corporation’s manufacturing site in Nampa and got a view of the processes and a taste of the culture of business. Students, escorted by Fred Goins, Manufacturing Manager at the site, viewed processes and got a taste of the business culture. Goins explained different products, their customers, and the empowerment Plexus exercises with their employees. Students had an opportunity to see for themselves how a corporation operates to satisfy customers while making a profit.
Boise State University Print Shop
Boise State University's Print Shop will be ending their current online ordering system on Dec. 31, 2017. The Print Shop is in the process of purchasing a new online order system, which they plan to implement early 2018.
