Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a holiday that honors and celebrates the lives of those who have passed away. Through colorful traditions and gatherings, communities come together to remember loved ones and celebrate their lives.
College of Western Idaho (CWI) Student Engagement invites students and the community to celebrate Día de los Muertos on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Nampa Campus CapEd Student Success Center (NCSC).
Whether you are familiar with the holiday or learning about it for the first time, the event offers an opportunity to explore its traditions and participate in the celebration. Attendees can take part in a workshop to learn more about the holiday, enjoy a hands-on crafting activity, take pictures at a photo booth, and enjoy tamales and pan dulce (sweet bread).
A community altar will also be on display in the NCSC lobby from Oct. 30 through Nov. 6.
