Admission Steps
- Applications are accepted year round.
- View the Academic Calendar for important dates and deadlines specific to each semester.
- The admission application should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
- Creating a password for your account will enable you to return to your application at any time to complete.
- College of Western Idaho may verify the identity of applicants to reduce fraud in the admissions process. Possible red flags for identity theft include unusual account activity, address discrepancies, fraud alerts on consumer reports, and suspicious account applications.
- Some programs only begin during certain semesters, while others may require a supplemental application process with additional deadlines.
- Visit the program page to view requirements and important dates.
Once your application has been submitted, be sure to add onestop@cwi.edu as a contact to ensure you are receiving important communication from the College.
Financial Aid
- Apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Completing the FAFSA can not only help you pay for school but will maximize your opportunities for scholarships, work-study positions, and more!

Non-Degree Students
Non-degree seeking student are not eligible for federal financial aid. As such, please be sure to pay for your classes by the Tuition and Fees Deadline listed on the Academic Calendar.
New Students
New students (17 and over) seeking a degree or certificate are required to submit official transcripts as part of the admission process.

1 To order your high school transcript:
- Visit your high school’s website for transcript request instructions.
- Look for an online request form or transcript section, and follow the indicated steps.
- Contact the high school directly with any questions.

3 To order your college transcript, visit National Student Clearinghouse.
Note: Federal financial aid funds will be on hold until a final high school1 or GED transcripts2 are received.

To be considered for admission, 16-year-old students must:
- Submit an official final high school or home school transcript, GED transcript, or HiSET certificate as outlined above.
- Complete the Petition for Underage Admission.
Students under age 16 will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the requirements above, students must submit a letter from a parent or guardian describing the request for an exception to admission requirements.
The first step once you are officially admitted as a student will be to sign in to your student account.
With your student account set up, you will be ready to:
- Submit placement scores
- Complete New Student Orientation
- Apply for scholarships
