College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) Biology 2 (Biodiversity & Evolution) class is going native! Join other adventurous students for a three week immersion experience studying the biodiversity and evolution of living organisms at the University of Idaho Field Campus (UIFC) in the beautiful resort destination of McCall, Idaho. This new course offering will spend long days in and around the UIFC, Payette Lake, Ponderosa State Park, and the Payette National Forest exploring and studying the community of organisms present.
Students enrolling in CWI’s Biology 2 at UIFC will complete four credits of instruction (i.e. lecture and lab) in three weeks at UIFC with one additional week of instruction via Blackboard; CWI’s learning management system. This course will meet the same objectives as Biology 2 offered in a traditional, classroom modality and is transferable to both the University of Idaho (BIOL 114) and Boise State University (BIOL 192).
Students will benefit from the intensely focused study and from the rapid pace of credit completion. Students will also benefit from the close proximity to the organisms under study and from the bonds that form during an educational experience such as this. Biology 2 in McCall will be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced previously!
Costs associated with Biology 2 at UIFC will run about $800. This estimate includes the cost of tuition ($544), special course fees ($275), as well as your lodging ($0), transportation to and from McCall ($0), and all meals ($0). Please contact Dr. Steve Lysne (stevelysne@cwi.edu) with questions or to place your name on the priority registration list.
See you in McCall this summer!
