Staff of the Month—January 2020

Published: March 13, 2020

Congratulations to Anelise Krause, College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) Staff of the Month for January 2020. Krause has been with the College for nearly five years. She enjoys working in the community college environment where she can work with students and make a difference in their lives.

“I really enjoyed working with students in my past position at University of the Pacific in California," Krause said. "When I saw an opening at CWI, I thought it was a good opportunity. I’ve enjoyed being involved in many changes and new ideas at CWI. There is never a dull moment! I think CWI has been a terrific influence to our community, and it is nice to be a small part of that.”

Krause is currently an Administrative Assistant for the School of Health.

“I love being in the School of Health and helping people understand how we can help students succeed. We have so many wonderful programs and labs that are professionally equipped. It’s such a good learning environment for our students.”

Krause was born and raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by her parents who were immigrants from Poland, Russia, and came to the United States after World War II. She met her late husband of 37 years in Chicago, Illinois. Together the couple had two children and owned a construction business in Phoenix, Arizona. Following her husband’s death, Krause moved to the Treasure Valley in 2014.

“Moving to Boise was a needed change, and I was ready to embrace the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I was very blessed to meet a wonderful man here who I married in 2018.”

Krause loves traveling, crafting, and home remodeling. Along with her husband, she enjoys hunting for items to repurpose and restore at estate sales and auctions. She looks forward to fixing up the barns on her 12-acre property in Meridian so she can start a business selling the unique items they find.
