Congratulations to Bachelor of Applied Science – Business Administration Program Coordinator and Associate Professor, Ryan Hanson, who has been named College of Western Idaho’s (CWI) 2026 Faculty of the Year. Named Faculty of Distinction for May 2026, Hanson is recognized for his commitment to his students, passion for education, and work helping students build the knowledge and skills they need to reach their goals.
“I’m deeply humbled by this award,” said Hanson. “The faculty and adjuncts here at CWI are some of the best instructors I have ever been around. Their commitment to their students, their subject matter, and the craft of teaching constantly pushes me to be better. To be recognized by my students and peers is incredibly meaningful and gives me a chance to reflect on how far I have come as an instructor and as a member of this amazing community.
“I come from a family of teachers, and their influence and support helped me develop my own passion for education. CWI has given me the opportunity to bring that passion to an incredibly diverse population of students and, hopefully, play a small part in helping them build successful futures for themselves and their families.
“What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it comes from the people I work alongside every day. I see the dedication, creativity, and care our faculty bring to their classrooms, and I know how much work happens behind the scenes to support our students. To have colleagues I respect so much recognize my work is a tremendous honor.
“I’m also grateful to the Faculty Senate, Kaitlyn Ricks and the Faculty Recognition Committee, and everyone who served on the Faculty of the Year Committee for the time and effort they put into recognizing and celebrating the work of CWI faculty.”
