CWI Student Receives National Academic Honor

Published: May 17, 2013

On Tuesday, May 14, President Bert Glandon presented CWI student Jennifer Welborn with a prestigious honor as she has been named to the All-USA Community College Academic Team sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group. Welborn, who graduates this spring from CWI, was selected based on her scholarly achievements and leadership accomplishments. She was nominated for the award along with fellow CWI student Jereme Weimer.

Welborn, a Nampa native, is graduating with three degrees from CWI: Criminal Justice, Political Science, and Liberal Arts. She is also the out-going Vice President of the College’s chapter of Beta Sigma Pi honor society. As a result of her Academic Team selection, Welborn received a scholarship to Cornell University. Welborn says she plans to continue her education at either Boise State University of Washington State University.
