Continuing a long-standing tradition, College of Western Idaho (CWI) celebrated local students at the Canyon County Fair by supporting the 4-H and FFA participants and awarding a $1,000 SCORE Big Scholarship to a recent high school graduate.
Throughout the week, the CWI Show Ring hosted livestock competitions featuring sheep, swine, and other animals. Months of hard work and dedication were on display as students showcased their projects.
On Friday, July 24, CWI faculty and staff connected with prospective students, shared information about college opportunities, and highlighted programs in Horticulture Technology, Agricultural Business, Leadership, and Education, Fermentation Science, and Animal Veterinary Sciences.
Students had the opportunity to enter a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship. Between the judging of sheep classes, Canyon County Fair paused and welcomed CWI into the show ring to announce the winner. Olivia Sitton, a recent high school graduate who plans to major in English, was selected as the scholarship winner. CWI continues to partner with local community events like the Canyon County Fair. The annual scholarship giveaway reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to supporting students as they take the next step toward their educational and career goals.
