Program Overview

Are you interested in a hands-on, skill-based career in healthcare? College of Western Idaho (CWI) offers you a unique opportunity to step into the vital medical field of phlebotomy, or blood collection, and specimen processing and learn the critical skills needed for efficiency in the role of a phlebotomist.

You will engage in hands-on training encompassing both the theoretical and practical aspects of phlebotomy. Learn how to perform blood draws safely and professionally, process various specimens, and understand the importance of these tasks in medical diagnostics. More than just skill acquisition, this program will  prepare you to meet the requirements to take the American Medical Technologists (AMT) Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) exam.
