I was born in Nampa and raised in Boise. I'm currently majoring in Political Science, and I want to help change society for the better. Whether it's advocating for quality-of-life changes to changing societal standards and norms, I want to do whatever it takes to ensure that future generations don't have to deal with the evil that society forces upon them.

Tizoc Lopez is a first-generation college student that was born in Seattle, Washington. For a majority of Tizoc’s life, he spent it at a restaurant because of his family. The restaurant life allowed Tizoc to learn the organization and skills necessary for navigating the real world. He attended Vallivue High school and graduated in 2020. This is Tizoc’s second year as a mentor and he is working on getting his degree in business and spanish. Tizoc is excited to help the incoming students and help them through college. During his free time, he likes to play soccer, volleyball, travel and watch anime.

Hi I'm Anthony Michel and I was born in Nampa Idaho, I'm a first-generation college student and have been attending the College of Western Idaho since fall of 2022. I'm currently pursuing a degree in finance. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy trying new things and live life to my fullest.

Angey Marie Hernandez was born in Nampa, Idaho. Her parents are from Michoacan. Angey graduated from Vallivue High. On her free time, she loves watching Netflix, spending time with nature, working out, and having family time. She is proud to be the first person in her family to go to college. She is excited to be a mentor and create new friendships. She values helping others

Hi, my name is Carissa Lopez. I’m 19 years old and this is my second year at CWI. I am majoring in business. I’m the youngest of 6 kids and the only one that is going to college. I was born and raised here in Idaho, although I love it here I want to travel and see the world. I work part time and am going to school full time. In my free time I hang out with friends or spend time with my family."

Hi, my name is Catherine but feel free to call me Cat. I'm a sophomore here at CWI. I'm a computer science major studying to become a game developer. I want to work at a company specifically called Riot Games. My hobbies include reading, gaming, shopping, and watching anime. I was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico but raised in Boise, Idaho

Hi, my name is Danna Garcia. I am 19 years old, and this is my second year attending CWI. I am currently studying health science. I am going for pharmacy technician; I am really excited for this new step in my life and where it is going to take me in life. I am always open to new opportunities that are thrown at me in life.

Isabel Dominguez was born in Morelos, Mexico. She’s been living in Boise, Idaho since she was three years old. She graduated from Centennial High School in 2020 and is currently in her third year at CWI. She first got the opportunity to join the Latinx Scholars’ program during her first year at CWI which allowed her to meet new people and feel more connected with others of the same culture that shared a lot of the same experiences she did while growing up.

Hello everyone!
As you may and for those that don’t know by name is Ruby Araujo! I was a part of the Latinx Program. I am glad that I had the opportunity to be involved in the Latinx program as it gave me an opportunity to grow as a person for my education. Heading into bigger things into the mentoring program. I am more the excited to help students out with their learning as to whatever they need help with when it comes to school. As my personal education I will be going into the medical field as a health science, pharmacy technician and into my big LPN program that I chose! In which all these are wonderful pathways to take and more then excited for. Education is a very big part of me which I wish to inspire more student to perceive their dreams. Anything is possible nothing is ever too hard.

I was born in San Jose, California. I am 21 years old and living in Caldwell, Idaho. I moved to Caldwell in 2018. I have graduated from Vallivue Highschool and am now attending CWI as a 2nd year. I am working on getting a degree in business. I am a first generation college student in my family and I hope I can be a good guide for my sibling. I enjoy traveling, cooking, anime, and going to Cars & Coffee which is all about exotic cars or modified cars. I am excited to meet new people and help incoming students and whatever resources I find to help them on their journey of their first year.

Hi, my name is Yukey Rivas and I am a liberal arts major and a first generation college student. I plan to pursue my dental hygiene career at Carington College. My favorite thing to do on my free time is read.
