Improve your Math, Reading, and Writing skills through College of Western Idaho (CWI) Adult Education (AE) program. We are dedicated to providing you the skills needed to meet your goals in the workplace and the community. All AE classes and services are 100% FREE.

GED Testing: Please visit Assessment and Testing Center for more information on GED Testing. Schedule your GED tests through your ged.com account. Schedule only one test at a time if you wish to test in the near future.

When you are at CWI, you must follow the school's policy:

When you are in a CWI building:

  1. Stay home, if you feel sick
  2. Wear a mask (must cover nose and mouth) while indoors on campus, regardless of vaccination status.
  3. Stay 6 feet from each other
  4. Wash hands or use hand sanitizer often                

Adult Education at the Boise Ada County Campus

If you are a new or returning student, register for AE by making two appointments:

  • one for the Reading GOALS test and
  • one for the Math GOALS test.

Each appointment is two hours, which includes the 90 minute placement test and 30 minutes for setting up the test, filling out paperwork, and signing up for study. 

If you have been asked to post-test for AE, please schedule one appointment for each test we asked you to post-test in. While the appointment is 2 hours, the test is only 75 minutes.

If you wish to study, please schedule one appointment.

Note: Testing and registration for Adult Ed takes place in our Boise Adult Center for Education at the Mallard Place Building.

Schedule an Appointment for the Ada County Campus

Adult Education at the Nampa Canyon County Campus

To register for AE, schedule one appointment to complete a Reading GOALS test and a Math GOALS test. Testing can take up to 3 hours. After testing is completed you will be scheduled to come back to complete your paperwork and create a study plan to fit your needs. If you have questions, please call us at 208.562.2068 or email:  basicskills@cwi.edu.

To register for Adult Education, you will need to attend an orientation and testing session Saturday, Nov. 13 OR Dec. 11 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Your first visit will be about 2 hours.

To register for Adult Education, you will need to attend an orientation and testing session any Wednesday in Nov. or Dec. 1, 8, or 15 * at the library from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Your first visit will be about 2 hours.
