Overview
Now is the time for you to start your career in construction. With the growth and development across the region, you could be poised to join a rewarding and lucrative career in the construction industry in as little as 8-weeks.
In partnership with We Build Idaho, the Construction Career Launcher program at College of Western Idaho (CWI) will equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to start a career in various areas of construction including:
- Residential
- Commercial
- Industrial
Your training will include communication, technical, and safety skills required to work on jobsites.
At the conclusion of your 8-weeks, you will be invited to a hiring fair with area construction companies who are ready to hire.

The entrance is from the East Parking Lot towards the southern end of the building.
Mission
Workforce Development at College of Western Idaho (CWI) provides you high-quality, short-term training to boost your job skills, acquire new career skills, and earn the certificates you need. Take as many classes as you want in our short-term, credit free classes with no applications, no transcripts, and no hassle. Just sign up and watch your career take off.
Classes are offered at a variety of locations throughout western Idaho that are taught by knowledgeable professionals with years of experience in the topics they teach.
Why This Program
This course is recommended for anyone whether new to the workforce or those who have been in the workforce for years who are interested in beginning a new career that will last a lifetime. Upon completion of the program you will receive a Certification of Completion provided by College of Western Idaho and your OSHA-10 Construction certification and wallet card.

Costs
Course Fee: $45
Price covers all student handouts, classroom and lab materials, and a culminating job fair. The course fee is augmented through a grant managed by the Idaho Association of General Contractors and is estimated at a $875 value.
Scholarships
There are an assortment of scholarship opportunities available if you qualify to help cover some or all of the costs associated with classes offered through CWI Workforce Development. Call us at 208.562.2700 for more information.
